NASA is looking for adult community members to serve as
Docents and/or Volunteers!

Docents are guides or facilitators supporting on-going programs. In-depth training is provided for these positions and a commitment of one year is requested from the docents. Docent opportunities are available in The Ames Exploration Encounter and Ames Exploration (Visitor) Center. Some docents choose to participate in both programs.

Volunteers are individuals who want to help with educational events here at Ames. An event may last from 1 to 5 days and a brief training is provided before the event. Volunteers typically facilitate hands-on-activities at these exciting events.

Qualifications
• A desire to inspire students to seek careers in science, technology, engineering or mathematics
• Ability to relate to students and/or the general public
• Good communication skills, bi-lingual a plus
• Professional appearance
• A minimum 18 years of age
• Provide own transportation to NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, CA
• Must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Training
• Training is provided by NASA Ames staff for all programs and events.
